WordPerfect Office Review (2026)One-Time Licence, Windows Only
By Daan Haket · Researched and written with an AI assistant · who does what
WordPerfect Office runs on Windows 10 and 11 only, so a mixed Mac or Chromebook team cannot standardise on it.
Windows users and organisations that already work with WordPerfect documents or Reveal Codes, or that want a desktop office suite on a one-time licence instead of a subscription.
anyone on your team works on a Mac or Chromebook; or you only need to edit PDFs, where a dedicated PDF editor costs less than a full suite.

Pricing (2026)
✓ Pricing re-verified 22 Oct 2026
WordPerfect Office is sold as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. On 22 October 2026 the full version download was $99.99 for Home & Student, $249.99 for Standard and $399.99 for Professional. The same pages showed lower prices a week earlier, on 15 October: $74.99, $184.99 and $299.99, with upgrades at $119.99 for Standard and $194.99 for Professional. Prices clearly move with promotions, so check the page on the day you buy.
An upgrade requires a previous licensed version of WordPerfect Office, and Academic, Home & Student, OEM and Not for Resale versions do not qualify. The Perfect Authority add-on is a separate purchase. Corel offers a 30-day trial of WordPerfect Office Standard without a credit card, and a 30-day money-back guarantee that applies only to products bought directly from Corel and excludes maintenance products. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

What the pricing page doesn’t say
Prices move sharply between promotions ($184.99 to $249.99 for Standard within a week), Home & Student does not qualify for later upgrades, and the money-back guarantee only covers purchases made directly from Corel.
What WordPerfect Office does
Corel's desktop office suite for Windows: word processor, spreadsheet and presentations with Reveal Codes, Microsoft file compatibility and PDF forms, sold as a one-time licence.
Standard covers the office work; Professional adds a database
Standard is the suite most buyers mean: a word processor, a spreadsheet and presentation applications, with file compatibility including Microsoft formats, Reveal Codes for formatting, built-in PDF forms, eBook publishing and import and export in more than 60 formats. Professional adds the file-based Paradox database management system; if you do not already run Paradox databases, that is the main thing the extra price buys. Home & Student is the cheapest way in, but it is the one edition that does not count towards a later upgrade.
Because prices swing by about a quarter between promotions, the timing of the purchase matters more than the edition for most buyers: on 15 October Standard was $184.99, a week later $249.99.
How to actually use WordPerfect Office
Start with the free 30-day trial of WordPerfect Office Standard, which needs no credit card, and open your existing documents in it before you buy. Check the system requirements first: Windows 11 or Windows 10 with the latest updates, about 2.75 GB of disk space for the application files, and an internet connection may be needed to verify the serial number during installation. If you buy the download, keep the order confirmation: Corel's knowledge base says the download link is on the order confirmation and in the order history of your Corel account, where you can download the software again.
Distilled from Corel's own pages: the WordPerfect Office Standard, Professional and Home & Student product pages on wordperfect.com (prices read 22 October 2026, and on 15 October 2026), the upgrade eligibility notice, Corel's free trials page, its 30-day money-back guarantee page, the subscription cancellation page and the knowledge-base article on downloading a purchase, read on 15 October 2026. Corel is an affiliate partner of ours through CJ. We have not used the software ourselves.
WordPerfect Office vs Foxit, side by side
Each column shows the vendor’s own published entry price, read on the date shown. Entry prices can cover different services or units, so check what each one buys. We do not average them into a score.
Both names above are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. Neither changes what this table says.
The natural comparison is Foxit — Foxit is in our dossiers too and is the alternative if what you mainly need is editing and filling PDFs rather than a full office suite: when we read it on 22 September 2026, Foxit PDF Editor was $129.99 per user a year. WordPerfect Office Standard is a one-time purchase that includes a word processor, spreadsheet and presentations as well as PDF forms, so it is the better buy only if you need the whole suite..
