This review covers Acronis True Image, the home and home-office backup product. Acronis' business and MSP products (Cyber Protect) are priced separately and are not covered here. True Image is sold as a one-year subscription per number of computers. Essentials is €49.99 a year for 1 computer (€79.99 for 3, €99.99 for 5) and has no cloud storage: it does local backup and disk cloning.
Advanced adds cloud backup, Microsoft 365 backup and antivirus; for 1 computer it is €57.99 a year with 50 GB of cloud storage, €72.99 with 250 GB (the option the page pre-selects) or €89.99 with 500 GB. Premium adds blockchain certification and e-signatures; for 1 computer it is €124.99 a year with 1 TB of cloud storage and goes up to €559.99 a year with 10 TB.
The page does not state what the subscription costs at renewal, and it does not say whether VAT is included. The comparison table lists a 30-day free trial. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

On Advanced the page pre-selects 250 GB at €72.99 a year, while the 50 GB option is €57.99. Prices are per computer and per year, and the page does not show the renewal price. Refunds on annual plans must be requested within 30 days, and Acronis cannot refund copies bought from shops or resellers.
Acronis True Image: backup and disk-cloning software for home and home-office computers, with full-system image backup, and, from the Advanced plan, cloud backup and antivirus.
Essentials is the whole backup-and-cloning product without cloud storage: if you back up to an external drive or a NAS, it is enough. Advanced is worth the extra €8 a year (on the 50 GB option) once you want an off-site copy in Acronis' cloud or need Microsoft 365 backup. Watch the storage selector: the page pre-selects 250 GB at €72.99, while 50 GB is €57.99. Premium mainly buys storage (1 TB and up) plus blockchain certification and e-signatures.
If 250 or 500 GB of cloud covers your files, Advanced is the cheaper route.
Start with the 30-day trial before you buy, and note that an internet connection is required to activate a subscription. In the app, click Backup in the sidebar, then Add backup, choose Files and folders (or the whole computer), pick a destination and click Back up now. Do a test restore of one folder before you rely on it. Buy directly from Acronis if you might want a refund: purchases from shops and resellers have to be refunded by that seller.

The natural comparison is IDrive — IDrive is cloud backup first, with storage across many devices on one plan. Acronis True Image is built around full-system images and disk cloning on a per-computer licence, with cloud storage only from Advanced. Pick on whether you mainly need a cloud copy or a restorable system image.
Read on 2 November 2026 (euro prices shown to a European visitor), for 1 computer per year: Essentials €49.99, Advanced €57.99 with 50 GB cloud or €72.99 with 250 GB, Premium €124.99 with 1 TB. Three and five computers cost more; the page does not show renewal prices.
No. The purchasing page shows 'Cloud is not available' on Essentials. Cloud backup and Microsoft 365 backup start at Advanced.
Yes, the comparison table on the purchasing page lists a 30-day free trial. There is no permanent free plan.
Acronis' refund article for personal products (read 15 October 2026) allows refund requests within 30 days of purchase for annual billing or perpetual licences. Copies bought at retail outlets or from resellers must be refunded by that seller.
