Shiftie is focused, affordable rota software — which means it does scheduling, clock-ins, leave and swaps well, but it isn't a full HR or payroll platform, so a growing business will still bolt on payroll and HR tools around it.
shift-based businesses (hospitality, retail, leisure) that want quick rota building, clock-ins and leave management without spreadsheet pain.
you need full HR, payroll and performance management in one system, or your team doesn't work in shifts at all.

✓ Pricing re-verified 24 Sep 2026
£2.75 per active employee per month for the first 30, then £1.50 for each employee above 30 — the reduced rate is marginal, not retroactive. Measured on the vendor's own pricing slider: 1 employee £2.75, 5 £13.75, 10 £27.50, 15 £41.25, 30 £82.50, 31 £84.00, 50 £112.50, 100 £187.50, 150 £262.50, 199 £336.00. At 200 employees the slider stops quoting and switches to Custom Pricing.
There is no minimum and no entry-plan floor: one employee costs £2.75. Monthly billing only — no annual option is offered anywhere on the page. Billing is in arrears: at the start of each month you are charged for users marked active during the previous month. 28-day free trial, no card details required, and 7-day UK-based support included. Cancelling is a button in the billing section; access runs to the end of the current billing period, and the cancellation can be reversed until then. Note the domain move: shiftie.co.uk now redirects to shiftie.co. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.
Category context: Operations & Workflow. Across the 52 tools in this category that we researched with a public US-dollar price, the median entry price is $27 a month (lowest paid plan as listed, per seat where the vendor prices per seat). Compare pricing conditions in the Software Cost Atlas →
We read Shiftie’s own pricing page on a schedule and keep every reading, so this is our record of the page — not a forecast, and not someone else’s summary. A change appears here only after we confirmed the new price on the page itself.
Unchanged. Every price on Shiftie’s pricing page was identical across our 8 reads from 13 Aug 2026 to 1 Nov 2026 (80 days).

Pricing is genuinely low, but the per-active-employee model means a large seasonal team in a busy month costs more than the headline suggests. For shift-based scheduling specifically, it's a clean, cheap fit.

Rota building, clock-ins, leave and shift swaps for shift-based businesses. Not an HR or payroll platform, so those stay separate purchases.

Hands-on: not tested by usReported by buyers: GetApp, Capterra and Software Advice, read August 2026
Themes from the buyer-review sites listed at the foot of this page, read in August 2026. We have not run Shiftie ourselves, so this is other buyers' experience rather than ours. We summarise it here because the complaints are usually the part a vendor page leaves out.
Shiftie charges per active employee per month, and the ladder is short enough to price exactly. The first 30 employees cost £2.75 each; every employee above 30 costs £1.50. At 200 the published pricing stops and becomes a custom quote. There is no minimum and no entry plan: one employee is £2.75, five is £13.75, fifteen is £41.25 (2026). The important detail is that the £1.50 is marginal rather than retroactive, and reading it the other way doubles your estimate.
A 50-person team does not pay 50 × £1.50 = £75. It pays £82.50 for the first 30 plus £30 for the other twenty — £112.50 a month. Checked against the vendor's own slider on 5 September 2026, the numbers land exactly there: 31 employees £84.00, 100 £187.50, 199 £336.00. So the blended rate falls as you grow but never reaches £1.50 — at 100 staff it is £1.88 a head, at 199 it is £1.69.
What paying for more staff does not fix is the shape of the commitment. There is no annual plan to discount and no volume contract to negotiate below 200 employees — the slider is the price, and above 200 it stops being published at all, so the largest deployments are the ones with no number to look up. Nor does spending more widen the product: this is scheduling, clock-ins, leave and swaps, and no amount of headcount turns it into payroll or a full HR platform.
Where the model genuinely helps is a seasonal payroll, because you pay only for active employees. A pub running twelve staff in January and thirty-five in July pays £33 in winter and £90 in summer, so budget from your busiest month rather than the average. And use the full 28-day trial: most software gives you fourteen days, but rota software only fails at the edges — the sick call, the swap approved on a phone at seven in the morning, the shift that crosses midnight — and a four-week cycle is long enough to hit them.
Our monthly capture read this vendor's pricing page every month from July 2026 to October 2026, and the amounts were the same all 4 times, including £2.75 and £82.50 from the pricing above. We keep watching — the registry records what moves.
Use all 28 days and build a real rota, not a sample one. The trial is twice the usual length and needs no card details, and the reason to use the extra fortnight is that scheduling software fails at the edges. Someone calls in sick. A swap has to be approved on a phone at seven in the morning, a shift crosses midnight, somebody's leave overlaps a busy weekend. None of that happens in week one.
Price your own headcount before the trial ends, and do it marginally. The first 30 employees are £2.75 each and everyone above 30 is £1.50, so a 50-person team is £112.50 a month rather than the £75 you get by applying the lower rate across the board. There is no minimum to catch you out at the small end — five staff really is £13.75 — and above 200 employees the published pricing stops and you are into a custom quote.
Understand the billing before the first invoice, because it runs in arrears. At the start of each month you are charged for whoever was marked active in the previous month, and your first bill lands on the 1st of the month after the trial ends. That makes marking leavers inactive a billing task, not just an admin one — and if your headcount swings with the season, model your busiest month rather than the average.
Shiftie's own pricing page (shiftie.co/pricing/) and its FAQ, read 5 September 2026 and re-read 24 September 2026 (the slider script still computes 30 x £2.75 plus £1.50 for each employee above 30), with the interactive pricing slider stepped through 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 31, 50, 100, 150, 199 and 200 employees to establish that the reduced £1.50 rate is marginal rather than retroactive and that custom pricing begins at exactly 200.
Also read there: the absence of any minimum or entry-plan floor, the monthly-only billing with no annual option, the arrears billing cycle and first-bill timing, the 28-day trial without card details, and the cancellation terms. Reached via shiftie.co.uk, which no longer serves HTTPS and redirects to shiftie.co over port 80. The integrations page (shiftie.co/integrations/, read 24 September 2026) lists DigiTickets, TrekkSoft, eola, ICRTouch, Drawbridge and InfoVetted, calendar feeds, and API access arranged on request, and no payroll connector; the FAQ page (shiftie.co/faqs/) describes the browser-based progressive web app.

The natural comparison is Deputy or 7shifts — comparable scheduling platforms — Shiftie tends to undercut on price; compare on payroll/HR features you actually need.
It does neither out of the box. Shiftie's plan covers scheduling, availability, leave, documents, time clock and timesheets, team messaging and reports. Its integrations page, read 24 September 2026, lists DigiTickets, TrekkSoft, eola, ICRTouch, Drawbridge and InfoVetted plus calendar feeds for staff, and no payroll connector. For anything else it points to its API, which it says was built API-first, with access arranged on request. So budget for a payroll tool alongside it, and during the trial check how you would get approved timesheets from Shiftie into that tool.
No. Shiftie's FAQ, read 24 September 2026, describes it as a progressive web app: anyone with an internet connection and an up-to-date browser logs in at shiftie.app, and staff can save it to their home screen when prompted instead of installing anything from an app store. That makes it easy to roll out to casual staff on older phones. It also means you should test during the 28-day trial how well it copes with patchy signal in your venue.
You keep access until the end of the billing period. The FAQ, read 24 September 2026, says cancelling is a 'Cancel Account' button in the billing section, that access runs to the end of the current billing period, and that you can reverse the cancellation until then. Billing runs in arrears: at the start of each month you are charged for users marked active in the previous month. By that rule the month you cancel in is billed at the start of the following one, so expect that last charge. There is no annual contract to exit, because the page offers monthly billing only.
Yes, according to Shiftie's homepage (shiftie.co, read 3 November 2026), which lists open shifts and describes shifts that your team can volunteer for, alongside shift templates, shift swapping and conflict detection. The page does not explain whether a manager has to approve a volunteer or who may see open shifts, so walk through that flow during the 28-day trial before you rely on it to fill gaps.
