Shortcut Chat Review (2026)Multi-Model AI Chat From $20/mo

By · Researched and written with an AI assistant · who does what

The usage allowance is the unknown: the page shows it only as a percentage and never says how much the Pro plan includes, so you cannot compare it to the per-message limits of other chat subscriptions. There is also no free plan or trial named on the page, which means paying before you know whether your usage fits.

Best for

people who already compare the answers of several AI models by hand and want one subscription with side-by-side answers, web search, image generation and reusable prompt snippets.

Skip it if

you only use one model, want a free plan to try first, or need a published usage quota or team and seat features, none of which the page states.

Shortcut Chat sells one subscription in three sizes. Pro is $20 a month or $216 a year, Pro+ is $40 a month or $432 a year, and Ultra is $100 a month or $1,080 a year; the page says annual billing is 10% off. The three plans unlock the same models, up to three answers side by side, unlimited custom shortcuts, image generation and web search.

What changes is the monthly usage allowance: Pro+ has twice the Pro usage and Ultra five times. The allowance is shown as a percentage and resets on the day you first subscribed. According to the FAQ you are not charged overage when you hit it; you wait for the reset or upgrade. The page names no free plan and no free trial, and it does not say how big the Pro allowance is.

Cancellation is done from your account and access continues to the end of the billing period. Plans change — always verify the live price on their site.

Category context: IT & Productivity. Across the 41 tools in this category that we researched with a public US-dollar price, the median entry price is $15 a month (lowest paid plan as listed, per seat where the vendor prices per seat). Shortcut Chat’s entry price of $20 a month sits above that median. Compare pricing conditions in the Software Cost Atlas →

What Shortcut Chat does

Multi-model AI chat that sends one prompt to up to three models and shows the answers side by side, with reusable shortcuts, web search and image generation.

Shortcut Chat product

Pro+ or Ultra for heavy daily use

All three plans give the same model access, so the upgrade is only about how much usage you get before the monthly allowance runs out. Pro+ has 2x the Pro allowance and Ultra 5x. The supplier does not publish the Pro allowance in messages or tokens, so the multiples cannot be turned into a concrete number. Models are labelled as cheaper or more expensive in usage, which means running three frontier models on every prompt will empty a smaller allowance faster than one cheap model.

How to actually use Shortcut Chat

Open shortcutchat.com, press Get started and choose a plan. Pick up to three models for a conversation, send one prompt and read the answers side by side. Save a snippet you reuse as a shortcut and insert it by typing / in the composer. Account creation and checkout were not tested by us.

The catch
Usage allowance is shown only as a percentage.

What it costs

The catch
The honest catch is usage limits: even on Pro you can hit a ceiling mid-session on a heavy day, and the step up to Max is a real $100 to $200 a month — you're buying headroom, not extra features.
Best for
developers, writers, analysts and researchers who want best-in-class reasoning, coding and long-document work — and a model that's careful and direct rather than eager to please

The natural comparison is Claude — Claude is in our directory as a single-vendor assistant. Shortcut Chat is a multi-model front end, so the comparison is one model family with a published plan structure against several models behind one usage allowance..
